Dear Hope family,

Thought for the Week

Time to Watch Jesus

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” Matthew 4v23

The very first thing Jesus did with Peter, Andrew, James and John was to take them on a mission trip. It was their round-the-clock opportunity to see Jesus in action. And Jesus did not hold short – the disciples  repeatedly heard his teaching and preaching in different towns and villages;  and they got to witness him healing “every disease and sickness” and “those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures and the paralysed” (4v24).

Can you imagine how the disciples felt? The excitement, the wonder, the questions, the inspiration? They had not seen anything like this before! Leaving their nets behind had brought them into a whole new world order. It must have been mind-blowing!

Just a question or two – Have you been out on mission with someone with spiritual authority? Have you seen the mighty hand of God at work? Like the crowds, do you need the power and love of Jesus right now?

With love and blessing,

Roland
