Prayer from the Heart

“Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord.” 1 Samuel 1v10 (NLT)

I was reading this chapter this morning, and what struck me was how Hannah’s prayer was so influential:

• Her prayer led to a son, Samuel.
• Her son Samuel led to David being king of Israel.
• David’s descendants led to Jesus.
• Jesus died for me which led to my salvation.
• I now worship God and can lead others to Jesus.

Yes, the real impact of Hannah’s prayer was way beyond her lifetime. In fact, it is still reverberating around the world today with probably many Christians unaware of the impact Hannah has had on them. Does Hannah’s spirit look down on the earth and see the impact of her life and prayer?

As a child of God, you are here on earth to impact eternity! You may see little fruit now, but in his own time, the Lord will multiply your prayers and your work. Yes, your prayers can impact eternity as you pray for people to be saved, others to be true disciples, and still others truly lay down their lives for Jesus!

Are you in heart felt prayer? May the Lord bring a fruitful answer beyond what you can imagine – even leading to the salvation of many you have neither seen nor heard.
